Like all black people in the South at the time, Elizabeth attended a school for black students. The Supreme Court of the United States declared that the segregation of students was illegal. A group of African-American students who, in 1957, were the first to attend classes in Little Rock, which was previously completely white, with great rejection from a large part of the student, scolding the new students who had joined.
