Dolly the sheep (July 5, 1996 - February 14, 2003) was the first to be cloned from an adult cell. Its creators were scientists Ian Wilmuth and Keith Campbell from the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh. His birth was announced seven months later, on February 22, 1997
